Newbie, need to flash ?

Beitrag von hopman »

Hi,

I've just aquired a sagem dbox-2 with enigma and working for my cable (tvhome, the netherlands).

I'm trying to record some of the shows on the cable however I haven't been able to do so.

I can get enigma to record a show (via the webinterface) to a nfs mount but neither mplayer (I'm using Linux) no vlc seem to be able to play these recordings.

I've also tried to get a stream from the dbox but again, no go.
I've been able to get a video stream using ggrab, but not audio (when I include the apid ggrab stops after a few seconds, something about missing an stream-id). I've also tried to get mplayer or vlc to read a stream from the dbox but can't get that to work.

Reading on the internet I came across a lot of information especially on http://wiki.tuxbox-cvs.sourceforge.net/Enigma it talks about the ehttp-api but a lot of the commands on that page don't work (none of the xml command and none of the streams (video.pls,mplayer.mply)).

I think that the enigma version on my machine is an old one.
However, I don't want to loose all the information already on my box (channellist etc).

Is there a (easy) way to get a new version of enigma (or neutrino) on the box using linux ?

Thanks in advance.
