That's what I hope too
I haven't had a close look at wlan, usb, wol, power management functions yet. In the past 2 weeks I was focused on getting my asus "ready" for using it with dboxes. And that worked out quite well.
So far I've produced following:
0. a telnetd
1. a kernel with NFSv3 client and daemon support (both UDP & TCP)
2. a portmapper and a NFSv3 daemon + utils (nfs utils 1.06)
3. removed stupid-ftpd and built FTP daemon vsftpd 2.01 (soon you'll get it petgun
)
4. removed the stupid HDD watchdog
5. modified the "router control" module to autostart and execute forementioned features.
All this make it a perfect companion for my dboxes (cble and sat). I can for example record with one box and playback with the other. All at the same time. This opens the door to timeshift doesn't it ...
Raw hdd read speed is ~10Mbyte/s and write speed ~4Mbyte/s (measured with dd from/to /dev/zero)
NFS performance is R/W ~16-18mbs, not impressive but fast enough for my purposes. Probably it can be optimised a bit.
@essu: thx for your offer , I will send stuff tomorrow first to chupa. If they don't publish it I will take your offer.
ciao,
