First let me say, if your friend could not connect to the box, it is highly possible that the box is error, kaput, defekt.
For an Log you need the following:
The "DBOX II Bootmanager"
http://dbox.feldtech.com/downloads/setup_dboxboot.exe
An "Zeromodem" (Nullmodemkabel)
http://www.dietmar-h.net/Nullmodem.html
Connect your box over the Zeromodem to the computer.
Start the Bootmanager and under "Settings" deaktivate everything.
Only aktivate "Com Port öffnen" and Press the "START" Button.
Switch on the left side to "Com-Terminal" and Then Start your DBOXII
on the Com-Terminal you should something like that:
