read al the german info but my german writing is crap so trying englisch now.
i have a dbox2 sagem for cable.
its in debug mode, b.mon v1.0 mID03 etc...
we were trying to change the img with the assistant through a cross utp cable but we couldnt seem to connect to got access through ftp.
the img that was on the pc was wrong.
tried to upload the right img..... kein system
so no ip adres means no ftp.
and ftp was the only way we could get a connection.

pc is xp with a wireless network and a pci networkcard for the dbox
tried disabling the wireless network, connecting dbox through the wireles router... no luck
couldnt start the flashprogramme in save mode
have no nul modem cable, am buying one but untill than i'm stuck with this problem.. it should work
when putting the power plug in after pressing the ok button : "kein system"
it drives mu nuts...
any ideas??

You will not need the IP of the Box if you use ImageFlashingAssistant !!
Please check "Gurgel" or http://www.hallenberg.com for a english Version of IFA (1.56) or the latest German Version 1.91
You can flash the box just with that software and the software also checks what Image type you are going to flash 1x or 2x
Good Luck

Connecting trough a router to the Box might cause trouble
Make sure the following is set on your PC:
Network Card set to 10 MBit and not 100 or Auto
Do not share your Internet connection with your wireless and PCI
You will not need a nullmodem, that's the beauty with IFA
Make sure you have assigned a fixed IP to your PCI network card that is not in the range within your wireless
Example:
wireless 192.168.0.x
PCI 192.168.1.x

Please when you use IFA you do not need to open any other windows. Ifa does it all for you !! Do not touch DboxBootmanager !!!
1st test that your Network Card is really "seeing" the Box when you power it on. You should get the 2 little computers (if set within the PC Card Setting!).
After that you start IFA, choose the 1x or 2x Image depending on your Box click ok or start klick on the message that appears and then Power on your Box. The box should now boot from IFA and flash the new Image. If you use a newer IFA (1.91) you will see the progress on the LCD Display of the Box.
If you cannot get past step 1 something with your Network Card or setting is wrong.

i have the 2 comps from the internet connection (wireless)
but when i unplug the dbox it says "one of the network cables is not connected" so it should see the box. also if i watch the network settings i can see that both are enabled.

Your PCI Card in your PC needs to be connected via a cross over ethernet cable with your Dbox. If this is not the case or you have no connectivity or the Network card has the same IP range as your wireless connection or the connection is shared or a firewall is used it will not work !!!!
IFA is simple as soon as you have all the connection issues out of the way but at present the dbox does not talk to the pc/no connection.
No one can help you remotely with that, you have to get the basics right at your end or all we can do is guess...

it is a red or orange utp cable with 2 labels saying crossed
we got acces with it through ftp and if i turn of the dbox i get a pop up saying one of the network cables is disconnected...
wait a minute
my wireless is 192.168.123.109
192.168.0.202 in the dbox ip field
192.168.1.203 for the pci network card
could this be the problem??
norton and the firewall were removed yesterday. completely uninstalled.

anything like 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1xx or 2xx is ok as long as these 192.168.xxx. is different so 123 and on the pc 124 is ok and in a different IP range.erwinnn hat geschrieben:my wireless is 192.168.123.109

Wise choice to un-install nortons as this can cause trouble even deactivated !
No clue then... IFA normally works a charm...
Maybe google for the XP Media Sensing Patch as this could also be an issue

the assistant fixed the ip's automaticaly in the ones you mentioned..
192.168.1.202 in the dbox ip field
192.168.1.203 for the pci network card
i installed the media sensing patch
no good
i'll install another network card and try again, just found out i was using the onboard one.it looks as an pci in the network connections.
will also look in the bios to see if something needs to be changed.
