What should I do? Pls help.

I have tried several images already since I got Sagem Dbox2 in dubug mode about a week ago. Since I live in the Far East, I am only intereted in using Dbox2 for satellite receiving. All of the images I tried are for cable. Can anyone pls tell me which image is for satellite, so I can have settings to edit satellite list, use Diseqc, etc. Does it work if I delete service and bouqet.xml?

Normally the images are for sat and cable. The box itself tries to detect if it is a cable or sat box and loads the appropriate drivers and activates the sat/cable settings
Pls verify if you have a sat box.

Thanks m8. I was desperate to find the answer. I have so much reading but finally to find out there are 2 kinds of boxes out there. The one I have is for cable and in reality I need a box for sat. Can I just change the tuner so this cable unit can become a sat unit?

Look at the Back of your DBox

If it has connectors like a VCR for antenna it is cable
If it has connectors for F-Plugs (Sat) then it is sat

To change the tuner is to much hassle

Yes, I do have a box for cable. Can you recommend me where to buy a tuner so I can change the unit to be a sat box. I know it is a hassel to do so, but I have no choice.

I think it is nearly impossible to swap the tuner. It's quiete a lot of extra electronic devices you would need to swap and it also depends on the model (sagem,Nokia,Phillips)..

It is really not worth the hassle !!

What about changing the config file to force the box into Sat mode? I can use another device to downshift the freqency into lower range.

No, thats only a tuner, no complete Frontend.
