Seting Up stream resolution

Hello,

i am trying to access the stream from my dreambox 500S, on a remote location using ADSL. The problem is that the resolution of the stream is 768x576 and everything gets Slow (i only have 128kbts of upload in the location were the Dreambox is).

Is it possibel to change de Resolution of the stream... say 640x480 or less ?

you could run the stream trough VLC on a PC as this can rescale the stream to suit your upload speed

yes, but that way i need to have a PC runing in the location were the dreambox is.

My idea was to change the resolution directly on the dreambox... if that could be

Changing the resolution means reencoding. Without specialized hardware for this task you need a very powerful CPU to do this in realtime. So there's no way but to use a PC.

Do you kown how many bandwith i need to recive the stream (in 768x576) in good conditons?
