Hi all,
I know it's probably a long shot, but what are the chances of us seeing divx / xvid playback on the dbox? I mean, a dbox with hard drive installed. The avi files would be dragged over from the PC, making a huge library on the dbox..
Possible?
divx / xvid

Forget about it. The dbox can decode MPEG2 because there's hardware to do this job. It definitely couldn't decode MPEG2 by just using the CPU, which runs at 66 MHz.
Decoding divx requires even more processing power. Since the dbox doesn't have a hardware divx decoder and the processor is much too slow to help out, there's no way for divx support.
It's not a long shot, but by far out of range.
