Beitrag von Solo761 »

How do I find on which IP adress is dbox? I have Philips dbox from Premiere, I found all software tools for flash to linux but I don't know which IP adress it uses.

thank you

The Box doesn't have an built in address, it uses RARP/DHCP to get an address from any server (for example Dbox Bootmanager).

:gruebel:
Did you really understand how to get your box ready for another operating system? Only with Linux you have an IP-adress for your box...

Now it's starting to make sense :), Dbox bootmanager allways said that if failed to ping dbox, rarp was off.

I got it to debug mode, but in Dbox bootmanager flash options are grayed I thought that's because IP adress is wrong. I "slowed" my network card to 10mbit half duplex, If it still fails I'll plug my old 10mbit network card and I'll see if it works then.

Trouble is that 80% of howto's on the web are in german, and while I understand german, my english is better.

thanks

Damn integrated NIC, I tried with my old 10mbit NIC and windows said that there aren't enough resources for this device to work, then I tried with newer realtek 10/100mbit card and same thing happened. It seems that nforce chipset doesn't like NIC competition.

When I tried on my laptop I get that "boot net failed" message and If I try to use flash option I get "Error 10048 in function Bind Address already in use" error.

I Think I'm gonna throw it to trash, I have no use for it with original software. I wanted to try this because I have 3 LNBs and this software supports only 2 so with original software none works...

thanks anyway

I can't believe it :), that helped, it's flashed, now all I need to do is figure how to set it up, but that's easier part. The hardest part is done, woohoo :). I can't thank you enough.
