HELP! Wont Boot

I enabled DHCP on the box and when I reset is stays on boot. It stays with “loading kernel” on the DBox display and the Linux badge on screen and won’t go any further. I got it to go further once by pressing the buttons on the front (standby, up arrow and down arrow) in some order but do not know how I did this and cannot do it again. Can you tell me how to reset the network settings so it can boot up again or just repeat my lucky combination of button pushes to get it past this point? I have had it booting with the network cable in and out but neither works. Can I reset all the setting to default without wiping the software off?
