dbox default settings

Thanks for the help, beginning to get this now.

Is it possible to change default settings in the image rom? I would like to make the image to suit my preferences and avoid having to set these each time the dbox2 var memory expires and it needs a hard boot.

Settings I would like to do are

Movie Player default directories and network settings
Video aspect
Audio Player as Movie Player.

Am I wrong or do these settings consume memory in the var partition? If not what causes the var partition to get to 95-99%?

Also a very techie question (Or just talking through my £%^&)- Is it possible mount the var partition to an nfs share on boot up? It would do wonders on the memory issue? ...
