Difference between jffs2 and squashfs???

Can somebody explain me the difference between image jffs2 and squashfs?

jffs2 is a read write flash file sytem especially designed for storing data in flash devices
sqaushfs is a read only file system, which has a better compression that jffs2 and
cramfs which is a read only file system as well

if you have an image with cramfs/squashfs you need an additional partition to hold the configuration/personalisation data and the channel lists
