Nokia DBox2 Enigma Firmware help
Hi there..
I am located In New Zealand. (Downunder)
I have just obtained a Nokia Dbox2 which is currently running the Nuetrino OS.
What i would like to do is load on Enigma.
I would like to be able to have the capability to make the Nokia search Satellite Transponders Via the Remote Control, (Similar to my nokia 9500s)
What i need is help with the proceedure that i should follow in order to flash over the Firmware from Nuetrino to Enigma.
Could someone help me out ?
A step by step proceedure, including what software i should be using would be Awesome.
I have at this stage become familair with FTP the Nokia via Total Commander and made changes the the Linux software using Hex Edit.
I look forward to any Help.
Cheers
Ren (New Zealand)

Just get an image which contains ENIGMA (f.i. lucgas-baseImage) or ENIGMA and Neutrino like the the current snapshot with alexW-baseImage.
For lucgas-image do it llike this:
0. IMPORTANT: Save ucodes ,avia500.ux / avia600.ux, ucode.bin, cam-alpha.bin
1. Flash the BaseImage with Dbox-Bootmanager
2. after first start you will be asked in LCD for an IP for your dbox, you can enter it by remote-control, it should be in the same subnet as your PC (255.255.255.0) and only be different in the last block of numbers (f.i. PC 192.168.0.1 dbox 192.168.0.42)
3. start Box in Maintenance-Mode
4. upload via FTP your ucodes ,avia500.ux / avia600.ux, ucode.bin(but this is not necessary), cam-alpha.bin
5. restart dBox
6. Choose ENIGMA
Before you start you 'd better read the FAQ

Thanks Essu..
I have managed to flash over my DBOX2 with Enigma Evo 6..
I have found it not to bad to use.
At this stage i have not managed to get it to switch my DesiqC switch. There were a few things that needed to be changed. like my LO for my LNB.. We use 11300 here in NZ.
Also all the satellite services that come loaded with Enigma , are not needed here in NZ,as they are all out of sight for us..
What files would i need to modify to remove all the European Satellites , boquets and Favourites etc ?.
What Enigma version would you suggest be the best and most stable one for the Dbox2 ??
Is EVO 6 regarded as a good version ?
Thanks
Ren

Thanks Zahni..
Yes.. I relise that...
Just one problem.. Here in NZ we use NDS Videoguard.
Enigma is not at the stage to parse an NDS stream via its EMU section.
All i am using the Dbox for at this stage is FTA stuff that is available Via Ku and C band.
I have for some years had a 4 dish system. 3 Ku's and one 3 Metre C Band dish.
I bought the Dbox because i have been using a Nokia 9500s for the past 5 years that has been excellent.
The Dbox2 seemed like a new challenge for me.
I look forward to learning more.
Thanks, and sorry if i upset anyone.

You may look at the Dreambox. It uses the same Enigma as the Dbox. And you can use an CI-CAM.

Thanks Zahni.
Heres a site that has just recently popped up in Australia that specialises in the Dreambox [illegal link deleted]
I have used a few files such as Satellites.XML that relate to the satellites in our area from this site.
One question i do need answered :
Will any version of software designed for the DM7000s run on the Nokia Dbox2 ?.. Nobody on this side of the planet seems to know for sure.
What do i need to look out for, when it comes to Compatibility issues between the Dbox2 and the Dreambox ?
Thanks
Ren
