Feel free to mirror and translate the download site for Portuguese or Spanish users... ;-)

http://www.yadi.org should also have some English texts, or use babelfish for a pigin translation.

I had try by "babelfish" before.
Must of the translation are OK, but some words or the sense of sentence are completely wrong.
For example when I translate the "update image" page I can't find any reference how the connection will be between the Laptop and the D-Box2 ?
Or the D-Box goes direct to Intenet to update the image ?
As I saw you have a excellent English Can you help me by Email ?

connection between PC an dbox2 has to be

via network cable (cross cable or via network switch/hub).

For debug mode or reflashing a a box with "no system" on it, you will need a cross-modem cable (NULL-Modem), too.

You connect the PC to DBOX either direct, then you have to use a cross cable or you connect both PC and Dbox to a Switch/hub using standard lan cables.

The next step will be that you have to make sure that theIP address is fitting to dbox IP, most dbox images have a default address 192.168.0.23, this means you have to setup your IP address at pc to the same range (example 192.168.0.10).

Now you can test the connection by using the ping command (ping 192.168.0.23)

Next step is to copy the new imgage to the dbox using ftp

You will find somwhere in the Neutrino Menues a command to do the update.

Please can you tell me if there are any other possibility where I can download the last image (15.09.2004) ?

You can download it form http://www.yadi.org/images.php but you have to download the 1.10.0.1 image. The 1.10.0.2 image is only an update from version 1.10.0.1. After installing version 1.10.0.1 you can update to 1.10.0.2

And don't forget to save you ucodes

Hi

You can't install 1.10.0.2 as an complete image because 1.10.0.2 is only an update package. Therefore the best way is to update to the last complete Version which is 1.10.0.1

An update is quite easy. You have to connet to your box with an FTP-client. Then you have to upload the 1.10.0.2 image to the /tmp directory at your box.
Now you can disconnect.
You have to go to the menu's shown at this page http://www.yadi.org/anleitungen/install ... ino_update because i don't know how the menus are called in you language

but the should be at the same position. Important is that you chose "root (Squashfs)" in the partitions menu

The ucodes are 3-4 files which where locatet at /var/tuxbox/ucodes
These files are specific system drivers which where needed but you can't download it because these files are copyright protected. if you lose these files you have a "little" problem

About the ucodes I need to save them because after I update for the new version they will be destroyer/deleted ?
And after the installation I must to transfere again this files to DBox2 by computer cross-cable transfer ?

Hi

There is no 1.10.0.2 complete Version. That's a mistake at yadi.org.

Yes. The ucodes will be deleted because you overwrite the complete partition if you update your software (also if you install a complete image). After the update you have to upload it back to the default folder (With the FTP connection).

The diference is that the update package is smaler and the main system isn't included. Therefore you have to update only the root partition if you want to update your system. If you want to install a complete image then you have to update the whole system without the bootloader.

Well. The ucodes (btw: these files are cam-alpha.bin, ucode.bin, avia500.ux and/or avia600.ux) are the only files you can't download. So if you lose them you have a problem

All other files are includet in the complete image except the channel setting but after upgrading you have to rescan if you save it or not

.

You can only update if you had already an installed Neutrino. An complete image can be installed if you have Neutrino or not

One of the best I ever found in Internet.
About the channel settings I friend said to me the "rescan" doesn't work so good with DBox because the memory are full.

If it's that true :
Where I can get a update "channel settings" (for Astra & Hotbird) for DBox ?
I'm really afraid to make something wrong ...

I need to buy another receiver surrogate.
I'm thinking to by another brand with another Linux software (Digitall World SCI) working with all Sat. systems.
The new image open all (6 in 1) ?

There ist still enough memory. You can create your channel list at http://www.sat-info-page.de/cgi-bin/loader.cgi?settings.
In the combobox at the "Empfänger" line must be set to "D-Box 2 Linux Neutrino ab 26.02."
The next setting which is called "Satellitenauswahl" stands for the satellites you wan't to use.
At "Größe der Schüssel" you set your diameter of your satellite TV dish.
At "Pay-TV Sender" you chose if you want only FTA channels (selecht "Nein") or FTA and Pay-TV channels (select "Ja")
The other settings are unimportant. Now click on the button. At the next page you click at the link near to "Ihre Senderliste zum Download:". Upload these XML files to "/var/tuxbox/config/zapit"

You said you have already a Neutrino D-Box. Therefore you can't make much wrong. Only if you overwrite your Bootloader or lose your ucodes you have a problem. All other things are not so fatal. There is always a way to reactivate your box if you have a working bootloader.

Sorry but i don't know these "Digitall World SCI" therefore I can't help you with these system.
