just got a DBOX!

i just bought a DBOX from a friend, and it says that the channel is not available on every channel i choose.

My friend says he will replace the box, but is there anything i can do to save the hassle!?

is it a hardware or software problem!?

I'm on telewest broadband!

If you post there is no need to post again as if someone will answer you that person will do so after your first post. It's called good manners.

2nd It is always helpfull if you post waht box you have (make) .

3rd I assume you want to receive UK Cable Television and you will not get any help here for that task

Without UK Cables.conf and a modded scan.conf you will not get even the free BBC channels.
