Write access?

Can anyone tell me how I enable write access to root I want to update yweb which is store in /share/tuxbox/neutrino/httpd-y/

Also is there anyway to dump the boot log out via the network cable as i dont have a serial cable, any help would be grate as it hard finding this stuff when u dont read german :p

Right ive been reading the edit guide that PT did and got as far as converting the folder back to squashfs which it says to run

"fakeroot mksquashfs root mtd3.img -be"

but fakeroot isnt a command on my linux anyone know what i need or how i can install it, im using PCLinuxOS

read a bit further down in my tut as there shoud be the command without fakeroot

try

mksquashfs root mtd3.img -be

Thanks the command worked but when i loaded the img file on the dbox it rebooted with the message "kein system" so i had to reflash back to my backup.

Any ideas?
