Yinstaller and Yweb

I have a Nokia Dbox2 running neutrino.

I thought it would be a good idea to update yweb to the newer release..Here is where I went wrong.

I used the yinstaller option and everything seemed fine, there was new archive file created in the /tmp directory on the box and I presumed that when I restarted the box this new archive would be expanded and the script contained inside would execute..Am I wrong here?

Should I choose one of the bootloader options?

Something happened as I lost the functionality of yweb after the re-boot.

After much messing around I applied the old archive via ftp and telnet and this seemed to fix the problem, In other words, yweb was working and the box was functioning again to a point.

I scanned the transponders and the normal number of tv, radio and data channels are found on 28.2, however at the end of the scan I get an error that says no channels found !

Best option, re-flash the box or a simple fix?

Re-Flash as it seems your Image has gone kaputt

Agreed, Where can I find my current version of Neutrino, Via telnet would be nice.

Then providing this image version is current and available where do I go and get a new un-corrupted image from please?

You can use FTP to flash

just have a look here:

http://home.arcor.de/pt-1 and there is a directory with my Helpfile where everything and more is explained in english

Make sure you save the contents of /var/ucodes or even better the whole /var directory as you will need your avia's and ucodes for a new legal Image !

Ok, Firstly, Thanks for all the tips so far.

Re-flashed box with original image that was saved of by me some 2 months ago. Saved the cam's and U-codes too.

Box now behaving slighlty differently...

Now when I perform a transponder scan I don't see any transponders on 28.2,

Do I need to put the cam and U-codes back on or do these files relate to the old EU based encryption system, Premiere etc...

satellites.xml needs to have the 28,2 settings in it !

Ok, Fixed.

Added the missing files and re-scanned transponders and working well again.

Many thanks to you all for your help.

BTW, Public holiday in Germany today.Feet up watching tv now...
