cannot view avi files

Hi,

I have managed to setup my comp via dbox to watch movies on tv.

I can hear and see picture of and .vob files.

When I play any .avi files I recieve sound but no picture. Can you someone guide me in the right direction please.

[Houdini]

avi is just a container which can hold audio and video material coded with any codec. If the dbox does not support this codec (e.g. mpeg4/divx) you must transcode the file via vlc to mpeg2 (needs lots of cpu power)
