Fan and the IDE2 Interface

Beitrag von belo_es »

Excuse but I don't spyke German, and my English is not good.

I have a dbox2 Nokia 2x for cable and I put a HD (3.5”) with the Hallenberg kit. When I installed the kit and the HD, I had a lot of problems and I needed to put a fan to solve this.

I see the electrical diagram to start on the fan only when the dbox2 are ON.

When reboot the dbox2, the HD start, and if you don et use in a few minutes the HD stop. I need start the fan only when the HD are runing, because in the other cases I don’t need the fan. To make it, I need change the “CS34” conection point for other.

Where can I connect it , to know when the HD is running?

If it’s imposible, other solution is, create a new electrical diagram with a timer (555) and conect it to the HD led. Where can I connect the HD led?

Other solution is modify the “recording.start” script and start the dbox2 before to start record.(This is necessary because it’s possible record when the dbox2 show the hour)

Thank you

Use an internal Notebook-HD or an external SATA-HD instead...

...and no fan is required

If you still insist on the complicated version...DrStoned is working on it anyway...he might publish a solution shortly (weeks, I guess)

He`s the master of scripting

So...don`t go away...stay tuned

Hello Charles Darwin jun:

Thank you for the answer.
Use an internal Notebook-HD
Are you sure that if I put a HD it is not going to give me problems?

hda: lost interrupt
hda: status error: status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest }

I need to change the Ide cable for other?
external SATA-HD instead.
Placing an external HD has the snag of having 2 separated devices, But you might tell to me better that you recommend HD and how conect this HD to the hallenberg kit.
Use the ide conector?

Hello Gorcon:

Thank you for the answer.

Excuse me, but this image had already seen it, but I don't understand the image:
where do I have to connect the led?
how do I have to connect the led?
Are there necesary any diodes?
He would be grateful to you very much if you were so kind of saying it to me more clearly.

Greetings

I meant an internal NOTEBOOK-Harddisk...
If you already got "lost interrupt" problems, you might search the forum for answers.

Yes, the downside of using an external SATA-Drive is that you got two pieces...so what?
You just need a ATA-SATA-Converter...and connect it to the IDE-IF...
Ciao

hello:

The problem of " lost interrupt " me has appeared on having put the HD. To solve it I have had to place the fan. If the HD stops working, I can stop the fan. Of all the way I am going to look for the forum to see that it is what I see on this problem.

I have a hallenberg kit for HD of 3.5" with external suply. To be able to put a NOTEBOOK-HD do I have to buy any adapter?
What adapter?

You do not need any Fan.

I have 2.5" 100gig Harddiskdrive it runs in a Nokia Box (Sat)
Temperature after 6 hrs recording: around 47C.

Everything works fine with it.

In my case I need a fan. If I do not start up it I cannot use the HD since it leaves the following error to me:

hda: lost interrupt
hda: status error: status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest }

I have tested thousand and is necesary the fan.
