integrated development environment for ipbox

Hi developers,
I posted the same topic in another section of this site

but I think that here can be more indicated and I would like to reformulate better my need.
I would like to make some developments on the IPBOX350 and in particular I would like to realize a RTP client and streamer for that box (and others)
How is it possible to create a development environment (for example using eclipse or other tools)?
I'm speaking about the fact to have in the IDE the kernel of the box, the possibility to write and build a C user application for the box?
The GUI (enigma for example) in which language is written? How is setted up the development environment of developers that try to enanche capabilities and GUI for the box?
I would appreciate every type of information.

I'm continuing to search C or C++ Code for IPBOX350. Can someone help me on this issue? For example it is available source code of vlc plugin or others? It is quite important, so if you have any useful information please help me.

well, did you take a look at cvs.tuxbox-cvs.sourceforge.net for the checkout instructions and www.bengt-martensson.de for a documentation on newmake and how to get your first working image running
